The Bank Holiday weekend was a busy one. We did manage to get some work done, and enjoy the sun and seeing friends too. Saturday was spent marshaling a rowing race (me) and helping the new owner of the Duck move it out of town (James). We spent the afternoon moving boats off the Common so that a rowing race could take place on Sunday. We moved Willow obviously, but several people were away so we ended up moving the Never Inn, Dragonfly, Friendly Fox and Steadfast as well!
Then, on Sunday, we had some visitors!
We’ve followed the blog of Les and Jaq Biggs for years, reading about how they met, married and are now continuously cruising together. John Pippin was an equally avid follower, and so whilst they were close by (in public transport terms at least!) they came to visit Cambridge. We took them for a little punting trip along the college Backs, and then we all went out to Pippin for a scrumptious Sunday lunch, of John’s delicious lamb followed by a magnificent Kahlua cake made by Jaq. It was wonderful weather, and we had a great time showing them around and then eating outside in the sunshine. Hope to see you both again soon!
We hitched a ride back into town on Light Enough To Travel, Chris and Simone’s boat, which was nice, as we’d not managed to do any actual boating ourselves over the weekend.
