Day 19: Stourport – Stourton

12 miles
13 locks

We wanted to visit Limekiln Chandlers in Stourport before setting off and they opened  at 9:30 so we didn’t start until 10am today.

The Staffs and Worcs canal is very beautiful, and interesting as it’s mainly cut through sandstone outcrops. Not a lot of locks but some quite challenging corners.

In Kidderminster we saw a friend’s boat but sadly they’ll not be on it until tomorrow! Sorry to miss you!

We stopped at 4pm to have a look around Kinver which is a lovely little town, had some chips there then walked back to the boat – we wanted to make a bit more progress so carried on round the corner and onto the Stourbridge canal where we ascended the first four locks. Now we’re tied up in quiet countryside outside Stourbridge with the aim of getting to the Black Country Living Museum tomorrow.
