Journey North 2: Ely-Denver

16 miles

Our passage through Denver and Salter’s Lode lock begins at 8:30am Monday morning so there was no rush today to get further than Denver, which is about 5 hours boating from Ely.

So we set off at about 12pm after spending the morning in Ely stocking up in the Aldi and visiting the waterpoint.

It was a beautiful warm sunny day for the somewhat tedious stretch north Ely and we took turns steering whilst the other tidied up inside.

  1. Hope all goes well at Salters. The sandbank is stretching out even further now. We were advised to go past the entrance a bit before we turned in properly
